P&P Live! L.M. Elliott — WALLS — with Debbie Levy

Upcoming Event
Thursday, August 12, 2021 - 7:00pm

Drew is an army brat who has to move for the sixth time in fifteen years—this time to West Berlin, where American soldiers like his dad hold an outpost of democracy against communist Russia in Hitler’s former capital. Meanwhile, his cousin Matthias lives in East Berlin, a city destroyed by World War II and lorded over by Communist secret police. Drew and Matthias initially struggle to trust one another, but they eventually become friends, bonding over their love of rock and roll music, strictly forbidden in East Berlin. Drew’s family’s loyalty to America is questioned because of the cousins’ closeness. The tension between East and West Berlin in the year leading up to the erection of the Berlin Wall is vividly portrayed, enhanced by real-life photographs and headlines from the time. Elliott’s Walls brings the Cold War to life.

This event will take place on the 60-year anniversary of the building of the Berlin Wall.
