Eleanor Randolph - The Many Lives of Michael Bloomberg — in conversation with Sally Quinn — at Politics and Prose at The Wharf

Upcoming Event
Thursday, October 10, 2019 - 7:00pm to 8:00pm

A veteran journalist for The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, and others, Randolph in her new book draws on her experience covering New York City and state politics as part of The New York Times editorial staff from 1998 to 2018 for a groundbreaking portrait of Michael Bloomberg. Considering all phases of this polymath’s life and career, Randolph illuminates Bloomberg’s Jewish middle-class origins; traces his quick rise in the financial world, including a detailed explanation of his game-changing “machine” for access to information; assesses his mayoral agenda and his efforts at education reform, contract control, and various health and environmental initiatives; and tracks his business, philanthropic, and leisure pursuits since his return to private life.

Randolph will be in conversation with Sally Quinn, whose most recent book is the memoir Finding Magic.
