Dan Harris became nationally known for his work for ABC News in such roles as anchor for Nightline and co-anchor for Good Morning, America. He led the network in reporting on religion, especially evangelicalism. He ultimately ventured into Buddhism and unexpectedly found a path through meditation to help deal with the often traumatic occupational hazards from being a newscaster/journalist. In his New York Times Bestseller, 10% Happier, Harris gives his view of the Buddhist path’s hazards and rewards while providing analyses of his encounters with meditation luminaries, such as Eckart Tolle, Tara Brach, Joseph Goldstein, Sharon Salzberg, and the Dalai Lama.

In her work Happiness Is An Inside Job, Buddhist teacher and psychotherapist Sylvia Boorstein explores the Buddhist path of happiness more deeply. What particularly stands out is her straightforward, catalytic exploration of how the Buddhist concept of how happiness transpires in our everyday lives.  Meditation instruction and practice will be part of the class.
