This play explores the mental, emotional and physical condition during the last week of Frida Kahlo's life. Exposing her love affairs with famous Mexican singer Chavela Vargas, dancer Josephine Baker, Mexican diva Maria Felix, Leon Trotsky, a Cuban spy and her complex passionate love for Diego Rivera. It would peel away the secret cover up and reveal what or who killed Frida Kahlo.
ODALYS NANIN (writer- producing artistic director/ founder of Macha Theatre/Films) She has co-starred with Ivonne Coll in Jane The Virgin and with AJ Cook and Shemar Moore in Criminal Minds. She's a graduate of The Drama Studio London and Rutgers University and has earned a stellar reputation for writing, directing, and producing theater in Los Angeles. She has written ten plays to date her most famous one's are Garbo's Cuban Lover (Backstage Critic's Choice, LA Weekly Pick of the week, Best play by The Advocate Magazine) MARILYN- My Secret- (LA Weekly Pick of the week) & The Nun & The Countess- Best play by the Advocate Magazine. She was chosen by OUT Magazine as one of 100 people that made a difference in 2007. She was also interviewed by Career Girls as a role model for girls. She is the recipient of the Pat Parker Award from Christopher Street West, the Maverick Award from The Women Theatre Festival and Three Drama Logue Awards for directing, producing and performance of La Chunga. She has participated in the Chicano/a Conference on Latinidad in Alcala and Salamanca Spain. Ms. Nanin is also a screenwriter/filmmaker and has written, directed, and produced two short films, Only One Suitcase, Garbo's Cuban Lover which are promos to her screenplays. Only One Suitcase (the short film) was a semi-finalist at Sundance and has screened at the NY Film Festival, The LA Int'l Film Festival, Cinemafest in Puerto Rico, and the Taos Film Festival.
