Robert Munsch wrote a book called "I Love You Forever" which talks about the love a mother has for her son from infancy to adulthood. Even when he is grown she goes over to his house, picks him up in her arms, rocks him and sings him this song: "I love you forever, I like you for always, as long as I'm living my baby you will be." She first sang this song to him as an infant, then an elementary age student, a teenager, and finally as an adult. The point of the book is that as mothers we will always love our children, even when they do things that bug us or when they act out or, even, when they move out of our homes and begin lives of their own. A mother loves her child forever. Sometimes those years after our kids leave home aren't the ideal we dreamed of. Maybe our kids don't want us in their lives or in their kids' lives. Maybe they no longer come back to our house, even for holidays. Sometimes our dreams for our adult children do not turn out as planned. This book is about Empty Nest and the adjustments I have had to face as my kids have grown up and left my house, their first home. It contains both the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly that has happened in our family during these years. If you are beginning this period in your life or you are in the midst of the kids leaving home, this book is for you. You may contact the author at booksandfriends@hotmail.com.
